J Crew for less: Factory Lobster Charley Sweater lookalike!

I can't help but be enamored with the J Crew Factory Charley Lobster Sweater.
J CrewFactory Charley Sweater in lobster - $68 (on temporary markdown)

So cute. See it on 1 more shopping blog. By the time this critter trend is done, I may have a whole zoo. Now, here's the thing: $70 for a factory sweater? That price is a little too hard on my wallet for factory.
Enter my *not to toot my own horn* incisive sleuthing skills.

Forever 21 lobster silhoutte sweater - $22.80

Ta da! Less than $30 seems a bit more palatable, don't you think? Different colorway, but a lot less moolah! 100% cotton to boot. I haven't purchased from F21, but I think I may take a quick trip to my local store to see if I can find this one. If I do, stay tuned for a review.

So what do you think? Is F21 quality worth a shot at 1/3 of the price? Are you tired of critter sweaters? Are they too juvenile or are you too infatuated to care about age appropriateness? Please share!

  1. Lol, I'm starting to have a mini zoo in my closet as well! When I think lobster, I think crabs and that's not something I necessarily want on a sweater (though that's better than having it on the bottom half..lol). That being said, I often fall for the crewlade!! Thanks for sharing!

    1. Ahahahaha, you crack me up. I was thinking more along the lines of where the claws were placed :-)

  2. I think it's cute. I like the first one better because the lobster is smaller. The second one has the claws too close to the chest area! :)

  3. I think I don't need another critter sweater in my life, but both those lobster sweaters are so cute and spring appropriate!

  4. Critter sweaters are awfully cute! I wouldn't spend $70 on one though :) The F21 version seems like a good alternative. They even give you a meatier lobster, lol
